This morning as I was walking through my backyard to my car, I noticed that there were several mushrooms that came up overnight. They are big too. I love mushrooms. I wonder if they would kill me if I put them on the grill with a few onions? I don’t think I’ll try it, I’ll stick with the ones Kroger has pre-approved for me, but does anyone know if these are indeed ones that can be eaten?

My Good Deed For The Day....
I've alreay completed my good dead for the day, so don't ask for any. Going office to office door with student help and some lovely popcorn in tow, we raised $80.93 for Operation Feed. The Mid-Ohio Foodbank loves me.
We will have to see what the final total is for the donation to the cause. Food donations and money has to be in by May 18th.

Today my landlord lived up to his rep of hating all animals. He is annoyed that I had to report a bird, some furry friend seems to be living in my attic. Not my fault, I did not roll out a red carpet for it. I guess I will have to wait to see who the friend is; he did not have time tonight to investigate.
I will keep you posted.
I will keep you posted.

Annual Sale...
My Dad held his annual pig sale on May 1st. This involves the prep of the pigs giving them a hair cut a couple of weeks before than moving 60 pigs to the parking lots of the car lot across the street from my parents store, setting up temporary pens and then holding the sale.
There were several people and yep that's me in the pen with the pigs, my shoes still smell even after a washing. argh!
Look at the butts, haahahahhah... those tails.
This is the pig I felt would bring the most money..it didn't but Bob Ross will be very happy with this pig I think.
This is my cousin's kid--he was happy in the shot, but a very unhappy camper when he found out he could not take one home. His grandpa in the photo was unwilling to give him money to buy a pig...how rude.
Have a great weekend!!!!

May 6…The Promised Return…
So I took a bit of time off, a bit of time to think about what to do with this blog, what direction to go in.
I could go in the direction of PSA’s… K2 is said to mimic marijuana in appearance and effect, yet is legal in Ohio, undetectable in drug tests and being sold in head shops and online as incense. This chemical combination is a mix of dried herbs and spices sprayed with a synthetic compound similar to THC (the mind-altering ingredient in marijuana). And it’s causing emergency room visits across the country with side effects ranging from elevated heart rates to hallucinations.
I could go the Community Service route…Operation Feed efforts enter 3rd week, don’t forget to make a donation. No one should go hungry.
I could go the Political Blogger direction…No fishing in the Gulf, when will these fisherman be able to bring home the bacon (or shrimp) to take care of their families.
It was suggested I pick a direction and go in one direction. I thought about it. It was a valid, good idea. Sadly my mind does not work that way. I tend to have many thoughts going on at once. I think if I tried to have one focus for this blog, I would in fact need therapy. Ok, so likely I need therapy now, don’t judge me, or do it's ok.
So, this blog will continue at least for the time being to be random thoughts, ideas, photos, opinions solely based on what I want to include. If I have readers great, if not, well I will because the world does revolve around me. Right?!?!
So tune in tomorrow for a lovely entry where the topic will be…well whatever is going on in my head when I start typing….scary, but true. Until tomorrow…enjoy today.

A Little Direction...
I think my readership has fallen off the ledge. It's ok, I know my life is not that interesting. However, I need to know if it's a good idea to keep this blog going. It's been in place a long time, some weeks there are more posts than others.
If I shoud keep it going, I need a few projects to focus on. Give me a few projects, topics, suggestions, etc. Are you there? Are you reading? Do you want to keep reading? You don't have to put your name in the comments if you don't want, your choice.
Thanks.

I’m Back…
I’m back to my regular scheduling or my actually ever changing schedule, but back in the C-Bus.
I returned to work yesterday morning to a non-working computer and the lights out in my office. It was truly a Monday. Sadly this Monday happened to also be the first day of the quarter. So, as you can imagine it was a bit of a long day, but of course I pushed through, because well, that’s what I do.
Today I’ve been working like a busy little one trying to work online during the few moments with the internet really does work and making more and more stacks of stuff that will have to be done later when it is working. My job depends a large portion on my internet working, when it does not, it’s interesting (aka frustrating).
I don’t know if this will hit the blog today or not, I guess it will depend on the internet.
Oh wait that was typed on Tuesday.
On to today, a few photos from Vinton County.
I want this bed!
Or this one..aren't they fun! Both are at the Castle!
Look who crawled out for a late night trail walk...silly, there are bears, mountain lions, bobcats, and wild boar running around out there.

Ground Vinason...
Can't spell, but there might have to be some ground up deer meat soon. I'm having one hell of a time playing chicken with all these Vinton County deer. They are living up to their repuation of 3 deer to 1 person here. ARGH! So far no meat, but seriously I'm not backing down deer...get off my road.
More elementary schools today. I believe there is a lunchbox museum in the future this afternoon. Last night there...then back in my very own bed tomorrow night. YEAH!!!!!!!
Ok...back to work.

Seriously???!#$!#$!$!..............
ARGH! Ok, so I did sleep last night with the help of some Tylenol PM. Yeah! However, this morning I woke up to no electricity. In the middle of the woods, it’s pitch black at 630am. ARGH! I did have hot water and did take a shower in the dark. I mean dark, I could not see my hand right in front of my face. No curling iron, hair dryer, lights…and I have to be the responsible one to make sure all of the students get up and get on the road on time. Did I really sign up for this? Oh, I guess I really am camping now.
I am connecting to the net which is great, but it's the school net, so no personal mail. I'm surprised that I can blog, but yeah.

SLEEP!!.....
Argh, first night in cabin was a mess. No sleep, well a tiny bit. Sleep for 10 mins or so the up and hearing all noises around me. This would not have been this bad except for some stupid person knocking on the cabin door at 1am and scared the crap out of them, then scared me that the students in the other cabin we going to actually open door to the knocking idiot. I have no idea who they were but they kept me up all night, it's only 330pm, but boy I need some sleep now.
Ok off to tour a castle, who knew there was a castle in Vinton County.

I’m Off Again…
No, I’m not off my rocker. I’m off on another adventure. This one it not taking me as far as Florida, but could be interesting.
Let’s see if you can guess where I’m headed with a few clues.
-The county seat is McArthur.
-In the 2000 Census the population was 12,806—the least populated in the state.
-Lake Hope State Park is where I will be staying
Ready? I'm about to give up the answer...
....
....
Ready?...
Ok, give up?
I’m headed to the exciting Vinton, County OH—IO!
Why you ask, well I ask myself that a lot these days as I’m doing the planning for this week long trip. The University offers alternative spring break trips. It gives the students at the University the opportunity to do some community service during their break instead of just throwing back tequila shots. Now I do like my Patron, but it’s good to give back every now and then. I’m taking a group of 5 students to Vinton County to do some Access Programming in the High School and Elementary Schools. They will be talking about their college experience and the many ways individuals can increase their knowledge base after high school. Why go to Vinton County, why go to a county where there are literally no hotels to stay in, why go to a county where you have to stay in a cabin in a state park? Well…I’m not a camper as you likely know, I don’t believe in sleeping in a tent when there is likely a perfectly good bed not too far away. I don’t believe in not showering for days just to become one with nature. The good thing is, this is a cabin and there is running water, hot running water hopefully, and a bed --a real one. Opps off topic…we are going to Vinton County because they have a very low percentage of students who go on for a technical education, two year degrees, or four year degrees. We are going to show them there are options open to them depending on their interests.
The challenge will be to overcome a couple of mind sets. One, many of these students believe that they are going to be professional athletes. It doesn’t matter that only one student (that I know of) actually was awarded an athletic scholarship to a college in the most recent years. They, like many high school students, need a small reality check. We hope to gently break the news this is a great dream, never stop dreaming, but have a backup plan. We also need to break through the idea that it’s ok, if they want to, leave Vinton County and explore other parts of the state, country, world.
Ok, I’m off my higher ed soapbox.
I’m still working, just out of the office. I’m researched and the local library has wireless, so I’ll be able to answer work emails and such and I’m told that Verizon mobile service is the best for the area, so I should be able to have a phone at least in the town, not quite sure yet at the park, but co-workers can contact me if they REALLY need to. The good news is, if time allows I should be able to report via the blog our adventure.
Now, enjoy your weekend kids and keep a look out for on the road reporting.

Irish Day!!!!!
A Wish for my Readers!
Wishing you a rainbow
For sunlight after showers...
Miles and miles of Irish smiles
For golden happy hours... Shamrocks at your doorway
For luck and laughter too,
And a host of friends that never ends
Each day your whole life through!
Lou received a card in the mail yesterday, he was stunned that he would be thought so much of to receive his very own St. Paddy's Day card. He was so excited he did a little dance. I've got to get a video camera.
Look at all the sparklies I got for St. Paddy's Day. I'm wearing them all today. They rock! I know the best people!
Enjoy your St. Paddy's Day!

A Great Big Thanks…
Thanks to those of you that came out Saturday night for an early St. Paddy’s Day celebration.
Thank you to those that mailed such lovely packages to my home in honor of the holiday. They were complete surprises, but the good kind not the scary kind.
More Disney Photos, sure no worries.
Lou was full of all kinds of excitement headed into the Kingdom.
Chip says hello, or wait is that Dale...hmmmm.
Lou developed a bit of a crush while there, he just wouldn't stop talking about Minnie.
Mickey knew it too, he looks all smiles, but see how he's pointing right at Lou. He knows.
Look at that lovely group!
Oh Lou, you can't stow away in her mailbox.
I believe that the Monday following, "Spring Forward", should be a federal holiday!

Ok, so what photos do you want to see?...
Mr. Potato Head!!! Love the Stash!
Mr. Potato Head, squishing my sister... I knew I liked him!
Buzz and I to the rescue!
Look at those kids! Having the Disney time of their lives!
This will be what I look like today, if I have to say, "Do you damn Job!". Oh, that's another story.
Look me...with Palm Trees!
More Palms Trees...but it looks like...
Yep, Lou hiding in the trees. He thinks that me might be moving to the warm weather soon. I'm planning to stow away in one of his bags if he goes.
Look, the castle..and some random kid with Mickey ears.
My sister and aunt color coordinated so we would not loose them...smart kids.
Oh crap...gotta work...more photos soon.

Like Candy Stolen From a Child...
I purchased a coupon for a massage the other day on the groupon website. I was super excited, I was going to get a one hour massage for the price of $25, this truly is a bargain. It would be my first massage too, oh how I hear stories of how relaxing, how great a massage is. I just did this last week I think, I haven't had a chance to schedule the appointment.
Today I received an email that my coupon has been cancelled. The company did not anticipate how popular the coupon would be and they cannot accommodate all the people. WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want my $25, 1 hour massage darn it!
ARGH! People!
Sorry, no photos! ARGH! ME!

#$^% &^#$^#$^!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
Sorry, I'm just a bit annoyed that I have gotten a head cold. I understand this happens to many in the world and I just need to get over myself. I think it's the timing. I'm beginning to believe the gods are plotting against me. 2 years ago, St. Paddy's Day party...emergency root canal. 1 year ago, St. Paddy's Day party...extraction of tooth. This year, head cold. ARGH! Now, I stayed home yesterday in hopes that rest would make this thing go away faster, I deserve a fun evening out Saturday, darn it.
I forgot the flash drive at home with photos on it, so sorry, those will be delayed.
In the mean time, enjoy a couple of random photos of Lou as we approach his favorite holiday.

Orlando, Night 1...
The trip began with an evening in Disney Town.
Have a listen to "On Raglan Road".
The trip began with an evening in Disney Town.
It is the all about Disney.
We saw Nessy made out of legos.
A dino too.
We had dinner at an Irish Pub--
Have a listen to "On Raglan Road".
We listened to a bit of music and watched the Irish dancer.
I also found myself a man. He's a little old and doesn't say much, but a true Irishman.

Orlando 2010...
My little getway to Flordia was to Orlando. Today I'll just give you a couple of photos then really give you the full tour next week.
The trip started off with a terrible display of snobbery, as my sister (although liked the new handbag I purchased) was keen to point out it was NOT Coach!
All in good fun... I think.
I was so gitty to get away from the snow, I couldn't seem to take a real picture of the palm trees the first night there.
And, no, no I was not drunk (at this point).
Who is that? Who made the trip also? Oh, that's my aunt in the yellow shirt.
Oh and Lou too.

Change of Plan…
I was going to talk about Florida and Disney today, but I have changed my mind.
I was in the shower this morning, now get your minds out of the gutter this is PG rated. I just was so struck by the fact that there was sunlight, actually sunlight coming through the shower window. I took the long walk into work this morning, just so I could see it for a bit. It will be gone by the time I leave work. Ah sun, you give me hope that green grass will soon appear and this winter really will end.
I didn’t have a camera on me to take a photo, but enjoy this one, I borrowed from Mr. Gates.

A Nice Thanks…
I make fun of Southwest Airlines, I tend to call them South-worst. They don’t have the best reputation for leaving or arriving on time. They stood true to this on the flight to Florida last week. We sat for an hour on the plan waiting for something in the nose of the plane to get nitrogen. Now, of course, I want the plane in working order before taking off, but it was annoying that we had to wait. The pilot was serving passengers drinks, I knew at that point, the 15 minutes they said we would be delayed was going to be a bit more. They did give passengers the option to go back into the terminal until the plane was ready to go.
The return flight was off on time and actually arrived a few minutes early, go Southwest.
I received an email this week from the company with a simply, thanks for flying with us. It was a nice touch and I’ll think twice now when I refer to their name.

I received an email this week from the company with a simply, thanks for flying with us. It was a nice touch and I’ll think twice now when I refer to their name.

Today Sucks…
At least so far, it sucks. I had to get up early to get ready because of this darn snow. I’m tired of it, do you hear me Mother Nature, I’m tired of it. I had to pack two bags to bring into work. One with interview cloths and crap, and a bag with a hair dryer makeup, and other work crap.
I have an interview here on campus later this afternoon. Of course it’s on the other side of campus and I’ll have to put on my boots to get there in the crappy snow, so now what do I do, pack the regular shoes and change or just pull my pant legs out and wear the boots. I figure I’ll just wear the boots, because really I think they already have decided who they are going to hire, it’s not me, so why go through that extra effort. I’m going to be snow covered anyway.
I made it to my office, only to find my suit jacket had gotten wet, because somehow snow got into the bag, argh! It’s hanging up right now, trying to dry. Normally my office is a lovely 75-80 degrees, not today though, what’s the deal.
I did bring my hair dryer, which I did use, because my hair was wet from the snow, even with a hat on my bangs were a mess, so I dried my hair I guess I can dry the jacket if needed. I think I spent 30 minutes after getting into my office getting the layers off, drying my hair, and putting on makeup. There was no point before leaving the house because as mentioned the snow would have just made my face a soggy mess.
You might be asking yourself, why didn’t she just wear the interview cloths to work. Well, good question. I couple of reason.
One, I’m trying to keep my interview on the down low. Mostly from one co-worker that drives me insane with his cryptic calendar and his attitude that he is the only one in the office with his salt because he’s working on his PHD. Who gives a flying fig? Really! I could if I wanted to, but I like my free time and the PHD is not going to provide the salary it should after all the work put into it. If I never get a job above the one where I’m at now because I don’t have a PHD, that’s just fine. I’ve decided once you have your PHD, you lose any common sense you may once have had anyway. Sorry to those who may have a PHD, but it’s true.
Two, I’m having lunch with Jim Tressel. No, it’s not just Mr. T and me off to discuss the incoming recruits for next year. It’s a professional development thing with the college about team work or some such crap. Now, I like the idea of a free lunch and Mr. T is not a horrible presenter, but they want us to wear our Scarlet and Gray for this event. So, I have on my suit pants with a Scarlet and Gray Polo for the first event of the day, this Polo is not acceptable interview clothing. So hence, the two outfits, one day, and Mother Nature just laughing her little head off.
I don’t see this interview going well. They changed the time of the Mr. T event and now I have a student right before, one of my “stretching students”, and will be running late to run across campus for the first time today for this event. Then back a few more appointments and then back across campus again. Normally bring on the time out of the office time, but does it have to be snowing, accumulating 3-5 inches today! Today! AGH! I need Friday, now or at least 430pm!

Weekend Update…
This will not be a funny as an SNL weekend update, but it will give you an idea of my world, from my view.
Friday night: Pizza and pints at Byrnes. Ah, lovely!
Saturday: brave the 9 inches of snow to go to Kohl’s. The airport reported 9 inches, I didn’t measure, but since I’m only a short distance from the airport, I would guess a good report. Spent two hours in Kohl’s during power hours. I talked to my Mom for a bit before going into the store because there were so few cars, I didn’t want to be “that person” shopping in a snow storm. Which is really funny, because I’m not really a shopper. Trip to local library. Trip to Kroger, with the entire county. Huddled under many blankets to keep warm. A bit of laundry done. Watched a movie from library.
Sunday: Woke up to bugger down the street scraping sidewalk, argh why didn’t he do it Saturday! Hot shower to warm up cold nose. Tool around house doing dishes, laundry, and such. Hitch a ride with Ms. H to Tea House for a late-morning snack. Accompany Ms. H to Kohl’s, I had Kohl’s cash, it couldn’t be helped. Of course no clothing was found for second interview Thursday or first interview Tuesday, but oh well. I always need a spare pair of gloves and sunglasses. Return home, more in-depth cleaning, watched some of the game. Made yummy garlic cheese burger for dinner. Broke favorite glass, argh, shattered in bits, I guess the gods didn’t like the way I cleaned the kitchen floor the first time. Watched game, annoyed that Colts didn’t win. I didn’t really care, but tired of hearing about “storybook” year for Saints. Sleep.
Monday (so far): holy macaroni, freezing walk into work. Long day of emails and appointment. Is it 430pm yet?
There you have it, good times.

Long Time, No Blog…
Sorry readers, if you are still out there. It has been almost a week since I have blogged. Mostly I’ve just been super busy and haven’t taken the time. I know it’s commitment and I need to make it, but let’s face it I have commit issues in general and none of you are surprised.
I’ve been busy.
I had a couple of interviews the last couple of weeks and one coming up although I don’t know when, I got an email that I would be called to schedule it, but haven’t gotten the call yet. I’m not sure that the first two interviews went so well, but we’ll see I guess. I should know if I’m going to be called for second interviews by the end of this week, so I’ll keep ya posted. When I get the call for the other one, I’ll keep ya posted. I get out of sorts with these type of things. My stomach takes on a mind of its own. I admit it, there is some vomiting going on, can’t be helped. This is why I’ll have to elope, I’ll never make it through a wedding ceremony. There would a barf-a-rama, which would just not be pretty.
I’m also planning an alternative spring break trip to Vinton County, Ohio. I’m taking a group of students to Vinton County to do some programming in the schools on going to college, majors, options, etc. It will be an adventure. I thought we were going to be staying in a B&B, now I fear we are going to be a cabin of some kind. Hmmm, I don’t camp, I’m a bit concerned, but I keep telling myself I can do anything for a week. It’s an awesome resume builder and gets me out of my office for a week. My biggest fear at this point, I snore, can’t help it I do, and yikes I’m going to be in a cabin with 7 students while snoring, I may not sleep the entire week.
Can you imagine in all of this I found my passport, which has been missing for over two years now. I need to leave the country by Feb. 7 when it expires, or simply re-new it. Heeeheee. I’m just excited to find it, so I can keep the stamps, I worked hard for those, many of the places were not even going to stamp it until I asked.
Ok, off for now.

Roller Coaster…
No, not of love, regardless of what the Chili Peppers say. This week has simply been a roller coaster, too many ups and downs and too difficult to keep up with.
Two 12 hour work days back to back. ARGH! No fun, but had to be done. I don’t have to do this too often, which is why I left my old job and took this one.
Loosing things, searching the small nooks of my house and then finally finding them in the most random location, after giving up on ever finding them at all. (No not my passport, by the way.)
Feeling like a success one hour and a complete failure the next. Changing pretty much on the hour every hour for the past three days, it's difficult to keep up.
I’m ready for this week to be over. I have a couple of meetings tomorrow that I need to go really well, so please do a little “luck” dance for me.
As Ben Franklin said:
In wine there is wisdom, In beer there is freedom, In water there is bacteria.
I have no idea if this is true, it was in an email I received, but I think Friday night I’m going to enjoy a class of wine or two. *smile*

More Irish Fun…
Now because it's Monday, because this is my blog, and well because I love the Irish, here's a bit more for ya.
Gotta love the accents---Dylan Moran. funny!
(Enjoy a cup of Chamomile Tea?)
If you have some time, Dylan has a show on Hulu, Black Books, funny stuff if you are looking for a new laugh. Thanks Ms. H for noticing this on Hulu. His stand up is a riot too if you ever get a chance to see more of it.
Beer Commercial with Irish! Try to watch the first time without reading the sub-titles, it makes it a bit more funny. HEHEHEHEHHE!

A Closer Look at Dingle, Ireland...
You will always be Dingle to me. Listen to those accents kids, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Only 54 days until the wear'n of the green. Start preparing, March 13, we'll bring in the Irish fun at my house. It's a bit early, but has to be, the 17th falls right in the middle of the darn week.

Made a pumpkin-ish pie from scratch 24. Watched Julia & Julia
25. Watched the Princess and the Frog—Cute, but wished there was a bit more of the hidden adult humor. C+
26. Attended Ladies 80’s Night at Skully’s---fun,fun, will have to do again, soon- April maybe?
27. Drank Swiss Miss Dark Chocolate Sensation—oh my baby, it rocks! You have to get it now. I love having a cup in the evening with some marshmallows, yes I am 5. It’s also tasty at work, but without the marshmallows.
28. Watched Leap Year—-AH! A movie set in Ireland how could I not love it. It was predictable, but lovely. A bit of it was set in Dingle, the town I lived in while in Ireland. I traveled the entire Dingle Peninsula and don’t think the movie was shot anywhere near there. My guess is near Galway, it’s gorgeous don’t get me wrong, but be sure it’s not Dingle. B-
29. Held the hoof of a sow to save the life of a new born piglet--Yeah, can’t say I’ve ever done that before and really don’t care to again. But, everything once right.
30. Watched 2012---I didn’t think it was as bad as all the critics said. I mean parts were a bit out there, but it did make you think a bit. C+

What is Your Woe?...
When I flip back through old photos often I have completely forgotten I even took some of them. I stumbled across this one and it made me smile and made me a bit sad at the same time. This poor girly can’t be more than 2 years old and she seems to have the world’s problems on her poor shoulders.
I don’t know the little girl, she was posted in front of me in her stroller at a fair. The bleachers gave me a perfect angle to take a few pics, she was too cute. However of all the ones I took, this one is the one that struck me.

I hope today your shoulders are worry free. If they are not, tomorrow will be another day, promise. *smile*
