Indecisiveness…

No, I haven’t made a decision on a photo yet or even weather to do it or not. I will have to make up my mind tonight in order to have print time and getting the entry in on time. In the mean time, I will pretend the world has no questions, listen to Irish music (why oh why are The Mickey Finns not at the fest this year), and dream of brownies covered in vanilla ice cream---yum! I’m in need of a sugar rush, I had chocolate chip cookies for breakfast thanks to Ms. A and yet they did not curb my ever wanting sweet tooth.

Until next time…when a decision will have to be made, enjoy your Thursday!

Help...

Oh brilliant readers, I need your help and of course I don't have a ton of time. There is a faculty/staff arts and crafts competition here on campus every year. It has been suggested I enter by a couple of people. Now winning is just a pat on the back well done, but it could be good marketing to get my face out in the university (potential job implications).

One person suggested the Stadium winter shot and another "After the Rain".

Help! What shot would you enter? Please list the photo page on the links to the right and let me know what you think, but hurry. I have to send it to print by Friday morning, so I can have it framed and ready to go by Monday.

Thanks!!!!!

Busy Weekend...

I had a busy weekend of Jazz Fest, movie, dinner, moving a friend. Hopefully pics later this week.

It's Friday...

Thank goodness! Seriously, I didn't think Friday would ever come this week. Only an hour and a half and the weekend is mine. I actually get to spend a weekend in the city, in fact I believe the next two weekends will be spent in the city. I'm so excited I might pee my pants. No not really!

This weekend will be the Jazz Fest and next weekend the Irish Fest. YEAH! It's so nice out today, I'm hoping it says just as is for the next two weeks. My quandary is, do I take my good camera or not, so many people, non-predictable weather, but the potential for some really great shots. HMMM, have to decide but not today, I'll let you know Monday.

Have a great weekend kids, seriously go out have fun and enjoy what is left of this disappearing summer!

*The weather is terribly pleasant today

A Short Rant...

I haven't had a rant lately, so I think one might be due.

Ever have a fairly good weekend, reminiscing with an old friend, meeting new people who actually have a sense of humor, time with family. I had a delightful weekend, only to have a Monday.

Argh, Monday. One of the first emails I read this morning just put a crappy taste in my mouth. I was planning to take on a new responsibility at work. It was not something I could just take off and do as I'm the scum the top feeders lunch on, but I was interested and approached my Director. After several discussions, the world of education does not move quickly, I was granted approval to take on this new responsibility. Well today in an email, I was told my assistance was no longer required they had gotten someone else. Nice!

I have also been working on a few graphics projects. These are great, I get to use my tiny bit of creative bone to create something from nothing, fun. Well, no there is now a template that must be followed to the T, no exceptions. Well how freaking boring and tard can do that. So, all the work I did last week to create an item, was for not. Oh well, I will do it, bear it, and move on.

I just have to say, it's definitely a Monday, and I don't think I'm the only one feeling this way today.

250th Blog Post and 1st winner...

Ok, all votes are in. I selected a very calculated way of determining the winner. Not really, I entered all the names in Random.org and had it randomly list them, the person in position one wins.

Although the print is small for you to see, Ms. N was the person in position 1 and therefore will win the free 8x10 print of her choice. Ms. N, please email me your preference of print and preference of matte or glossy. I will get it out to you asap.

To all the others, thank you for taking the time to comment and support this adventure.

Have a grand weekend!

First Ever Contest on This Site…

Ok, kids, exciting new news. I’m going to do it, jump two feet in. I’m going to try this photography thing. It’s likely the dumbest idea considering the economy right now, but I’ll have fun going broke. Hehehehe, positive thinking, I know I do it so well.

I’m been working on this little new blog to promote the photos. I welcome you all to the grand opening of the new blog and According To Alison Photography. I’m going to start small, “Aim Small, Shoot Small”. If this goes, cross your little fingers, then I’ll work up to a full fledged website with flash and all that fun stuff. *smile*

Anyway, here’s the site…accordingtoalisonphotography.blogspot.com. Go, review, enjoy!

The fun part, the contest. I need some promotion of the site and the photos. So, I need your help loyal readers, please help, I’m begging, but willing to reward you for your efforts. All you have to do is comment on how you will promote my site. It could be putting the link on your website, making an announcement on MySpace, Facebook, etc., or just promising to tell a friend, co-worker, family member about the site. If you typically comment anonymously, please feel free to avoid creating an account, but please put your name at the end of your comment. I will choose a winner at random.

What will you win? Excellent question, you guys are always on top of things. Well you will win your choice of one of the first 3 prints available on the site, I will announce the winner and you let me know which one you would like and where I should ship it. I could give you a 4x6 print, but I like you all so much (and really need the promotion, just kidding, but not) that I’m going to give you an 8x10 print. Now if you don’t like the prints or my work, I completely understand you can decline commenting or if you are competitive and just want to see if you can win, then you can decline the prize or give it to a co-work you really don’t like, but want to mess with their head by giving them a random gift.

Ok, does this sound like a good deal. All comments must be posted by 12pm Eastern Time, tomorrow, Friday! Winner will be announced on tomorrow’s blog entry. So go comment and start promoting. Thanks!!!!

Did you miss me? I missed all of you lovely readers. *grin*

Welp I was on another random adventure in the mid-west. Iowa was the destination this time, a few more days, and a success I would say, but we’ll find out soon.

I don’t have photos yet, just back late yesterday afternoon and too pooped to download them. Hopefully I will have them and other fun stuff to share tomorrow.

In the mean time, enjoy this old photo of Maggie. Ah, love the Mags-ster.

Rating: B+
I know the critics didn't like it, but I did. Nothing to do this weekend? You might enjoy this one, but if you don't, you can't blame me, just my opinion.

Toll Roads kinda suck!
We didn't stay in the Three Bears Lodge, but how cool would that have been.
Lou was kinda bored during the trip, but did enjoy the cheese.

WI Trip Info…

I’ll give you the brief version because my head is spinning. Why is my head spinning you ask. Some dude is painting the main portion of our office suite and it’s a bit strong. ICK!

Anyway, the trip began at 6:45am Wednesday morning.

We drove, drove, drove some more, stopped to pee, got petrol, grabbed a bite to eat, drove, drove, drove, drove, drove, stropped to pee, got petrol, grabbed a bite to eat, drove, drove, drove, drove, checked into hotel, drove around the small town, and 10 minutes later, had seen the town. Tomah it turns out is a rather small town. Picture Caldwell, Ohio with a Wal-mart or Kenton, Ohio, wait does it have a mall I can’t remember if it does it’s too big. These would be good comparisons. Zanesville, Ohio is too large if that gives you any idea.

My sister went for her interview Thursday morning. I drove out of town to find...farmland. I decided to drive a bit on the other side of town, farmland. I think I saw cranberry marshes, but can’t be sure, I’m have no idea what a cranberry plant looks like.

Are these cranberry plants? And what are these birds? Tomah, WI

IL, going green!
It was kinda neat to see all of the windmills going. IL

My sister with the camera, I promise, it wasn't me!!!

Can you guess what this truck is hauling?? WI
Green Beans! Can you imagine, they aren't even covered and they were loosing a few out the back. Oh course who cares because green beans taste like dirt smells, ick!!! WI
We went to the Cranberry museum, well we went to the gift shop, the museum was $4 and as big as my living room. Warrens, WI
Look who made the trip, by reader request, seriously, I was as shocked as you now are.
Loads and loads of corn fields! IL
Just outside of the town of Tomah, WI

We didn’t really stop to take many photos, disappointing for me, but interesting in that my sister seemed to miss most photo opps when I was driving. We don’t know exactly who took what photos, because I was trying to take some while driving. I know 70 miles an hour is not the time for a winning photo, but well I couldn’t be stopped. These are a few random ones. No touch ups here kids, these are straight out of the camera, can ya tell. :)

The return trip Thursday afternoon: We drove, drove, drove some more, stopped to pee, got petrol, grabbed a bite to eat, drove, drove, drove, drove, drove, stropped to pee, got petrol, grabbed a bite to eat, drove, drove, drove, drove, drove, and drove.

A co-worker asked if we played any road trip games during the drive. We didn’t really, the only game we played is how long can we make it until we have to pee again. I seem to have lost this game every time. I think every time we stopped it was because I was the one that had to pee of course my sister did too, but she was not as demanding as I was. It’s that first child syndrome, I have to be demanding to get what I want.

You gotta be aware...

I'm back. You thought you had seen the last of me, nope, wrong.

I have to tell you I did survive the fast track trip, but I warn all travellers you must be aware of your surroundings.

In Indiana the Hulk was ready to pounce.

Doesn't he look fierce!

Then in Ohio, eyes were watching me.

Can you imagine my surprise to see this giant Eddy Murphy head traveling down the road?

Seriously be aware, very aware.

Did you figure it out?...

Did ya, did ya? Sorry, I'm a bit spazzy this morning.

I'm headed to Tomah, WI. My sister has a job interview there at the VA. It's going to be a very quick trip up and a very quick trip back.

I may or may not have access to the net, so if you don't hear from me for then next few days, not to worry.

Enjoy your holiday weekend!!!!
For S.S.: Because no comment seems appropriate.
