Because It's Friday...

An Irish Toast for you.

I've been working on a baby blanket for some time. I actually finished it a few weeks ago, but am just getting around to posting a picture.  It took forever and I learned, I do better with knitting projects that do not have a deadline (like a baby arriving).  The blanket looks much better from a distance, but I have determined that good or bad, the baby is getting this darn blanket. *smile*

The Person I'm Not...

I want to be the person who wants to watch the State of the Union, I used to be. I used to love politics, lately it just makes me sad. There are just a bunch of talking and nothing really happening. I ended up enjoying a cuppa tea and a bit of a book.

This is really more than just a cuppa tea, this is beauty in a mug. I adore this tea. It was one of those online purchases I made last week. It's better at a coffee shop with a group of friends, but is just delightful in my home with a good book.

I did watch the end of the President's speech and kudos to the writers, but really, again all talk, little action will occur. Then since when does the opposing party get air time immediately following the State of the Union, more power to them, but really, not needed.

Snowing Horses...

There is a dude in my hood that every time it snow goes out and makes a creation. The last one was much better, but I didn't get a good picture. This is his most current snow art.

I Should Always Be Busy...

Yesterday was a fairly slow day for me at work, several of my appointments did not show up and therefore, I had time to play on the internet. I should not have this free time, because apparently when I have free time, I spend money. I made three online purchases yesterday. None of them were really needed, but all will be great when they actually arrive. I must be stopped, today I must be busy, my bank card will soon melt from too much use. The funny part is yesterday morning, I was just thinking to myself how being sick had been nice on the bank account because I didn't feel like going out and have been eating pantry food and haven't been to the grocery for over two weeks. So much for that effort. Thank goodness it's Friday!

Friday is National Hug Day...

I'm giving you a heads up that tomorrow is National Hug Day, so you don't find yourself surprised to get a random hug from a stranger. If there is a certain someone that you have been wanting to hug, but haven't found a good way to work it in, tomorrow is perfect. You just walk up to him/her give them a big squeeze-if they freak out, you simply let them know about the National Holiday.

I have a gig coming up this weekend to display my photos and try and rope a few people into maybe buying one or two. If they do great, if not oh well I mostly take pictures for me, so I will not be heart broken. I can't wait to get this crud out of my body so I can go take a few pictures of a new addition to the world.

I find myself randomly looking at photos, other peoples vacation photos, professional photos, whatever, I just love the idea that the moment in time was captured forever. I know I'm weird, tell me something I don't know.

So, because I can, I'm posting a picture of Maggie, it's grainy, it not in full focus, it was taken with a mobile phone camera, but it is her expression I love. It is Maggie. Also, if you leave a comment of what your favorite photo you have is or your favorite subject to take photos of I'll enter you into a drawing for one if my pictures, no rush you have until Monday.

Good For You & Others...

First, to those of you who have been asking yourself, where did she go, I apologize, I took on a bout of the common cold and the cold was winning for quite a while. The fight is still on, but I think I'm getting the better of it, at least I hope so. My best offensive move...sleep and lots of it.

Did you know you can take on a challenge for yourself and it can help others? If you haven't done this yet, do it. Even if you are one of the lucky bastards that does not need to loose weight, or are happy where you are, you can still do it.

Here's how it works...

You go to this website, You click on "Pledge Now". You enter a wee bit of information and BAZINGA, you are donating money to your local food bank and making a promise to yourself to either loose weight or maintain your weight.
