The G. Storm...

Last night I wondered off in to the world of concerts. I was able to score some very reasonably priced tickets for Gaelic Storm last night. The total cost of my concert experience was $4.50, not too darn bad I say.

I was disappointment that my back would not allow me to jump around as I would have liked, nope I was much more civilized than normal.

For those who are not familiar with Gaelic Storm, take a look. Sorry, photos from last night, still in camera.

Happy Weekend Kids, Happy weekend!

My Personal Rachel Ray...

Last night I had dinner with the marrieds. My personal Rachel Ray worked her magic again! She created this lovely blue cheese sauce over linguine noodles, topped with perfectly marinated chicken. This was all served with a salad and garlic bread. Ah of course, she just whipped up a few sugar cookies. Oh man, tasty!!!!

I'm eating the little bowl she sent home with me. I don't believe in leftovers, so this must tell you how frigging good it was.

I love dinners with the marrieds!!!

Random Tidbit...

I received an email today with photos of this. I didn't know it existed, so thought you might not either. Apparently parts of the world trade center were taken and made into the ship. It's a interesting way to make a remembrance of a horrible event, but creating something practical out of it. I don't know who decided to do this, but it's interesting. Since it's practical and interesting, I have my doubts it was a government official.

If I Were Making the Grand Decisions…

Oh wouldn’t that be a grand place, if indeed I did control the world. Let’s just imagine it for a moment.

I would make universal health care for everyone. I’m not sure how it would be funded, but co-pays would be reduced to $5 a visit for all doctors visits, specialist or not. There would be a fund to donate money for those who do not have the $5 and for the generosity of others, it would be a tax deduction.

I would increase the road repairs to needed areas, such as pot holes that you loose your entire car in. I would decrease the ridiculous and continuous construction on I-70, especially from Columbus to Indiana. I don’t think it is ever orange barrel free.

I would commission a competition for the creation of a material in which roads could be created and would be resistant to ice. Maybe some kind of built in heating element that would be turned on and off—like my electric blanket maybe. This would reduce the number of car accidents, reduce the amount of insurance used for these accidents, and keep commerce moving at a normal rate, with few delays.

I would move the world to a 4 day work week. More time should be put into fun and life enjoyment. Workers would be productive when at work knowing they have more free time. Those who did not perform up to par would be gone, eventually they would figure it out or live on the streets.

I would reduce public assistance, but increase educational training, and education to job opportunities. There would be a time limit on how long assistance could be used by those who do indeed need it.

I would make daylight start at 6am regardless of the time of year and sunset at 9pm regardless of the time of year. Ok, so I likely could not control this, but I would make me happy.

Ah, what a world it would be.

Party Like A Rockstar...

So, I wish I could say, I did party like a rockstar this past weekend, but it was a very low key weekend. Still in recovery with the back issue. It's taking time, but it's thousands times better than it was, so that's great, but still not 100%. Maybe one day again soon I'll be able to touch my toes and straighten out my legs when sitting on the floor, but not just yet. One day at a time. I just feel like an old lady. It doesn't help that it's 10 degrees outside. ARGH! I'm hoping warm weather gets to Ohio soon, so I can come out of hibernation.

Oh and a belated Happy Birthday to Ms. M--sorry, I didn't post on Friday and didn't get this up. Hope it was grand!

Hello Again...

Sorry kids, I've been out of commission for a bit. I had a bit of a back problem, twisted nerves, etc. Good times really. It's on the mend, not 100% just yet, but I'm at least back to work.

Ok, so just a short hello and I'll blog more soon.

ARGH!

I'm become an old lady and an adult and I just don't like it. The old lady part comes from a muscle in my back that was pulled last week and for some reason came back in full force with it's stabbing pain this morning. WTF!!???! At this rate, I can barely move from my chair to the filing cabinet without groaning in trouble pain. I'm supposed to be working at the mill Saturday, it has got to get better. My gas bill for the past two months came yesterday, yep last two, they didn't send me one last month and of course I didn't call and request one so there is a $1.50 late charge. I can deal with that, but the overall total, good grief and my house is set on 60. I can not imagine if I actually had a house and not a townhouse. I'm doomed to rent forever. ARGH!

The adult part is fighting with my dental insurance. As you know or may not know, I had a emergency root canal the day before my St. Paddy's Day party last year. Grand times, I tell ya. Well the issue is, that tooth had a crown on it from a couple of years ago. It was a tooth that had a filling in it from years ago as a teenager and the tooth had gone bad as the filling had separated from the tooth. Well the dentist that put the crown on pissed me off once before the god awful pain, and when I call to explain, "hey dude, more pain" he was at a "conference". Now granted, I didn't have an appointment, and I know how I feel when my students show without an appointment, but seriously. So, I call somewhere else, they got me in that day, I had the root canal, yadda, yadda, yadda. Well, I have since gone back a few times, because the stupid thing still hurts. So, the issue, because of some dumb ass policy about teeth and 5 years work, the insurance company charged me for part of the work, but not all. Odd, yes, I felt so too. Anyway, now it has dawned on me that it's been 4 months since the last visit and almost a year since the original event and I still have pain everyday. So, I'm trying to figure out, who I can go see and not pay with all my limbs.

Is it Friday yet?!?!?!?!?!

If I Can, You Can Too

You too can make a lovely home made pizza. It took forever to get these photos up. I'm not sure if it's blogger or what. I ended up switching internet browsers to get it done.

Anyway moving on...

First you will start with a frozen pizza dough, thawed out of course. Don't forget to pre-heat your oven to 400 degrees.

Roll out the dough to a nice size and to the thickness you like, thin or thicker. Then I took a couple of garlic cloves and brush them across the dough.

Now spread a bit of olive oil on the dough, this will be the "sauce".

Don't get too much, but a bit to cover the dough. Yes, sometimes you have to use your fingers.

Now go to the fridge and get the fresh mozzarella.

Cut a few nice slices.

Then cut your gourmet olives from the olive bar in half. I like the ones stuff with garlic. You can use the garlic then on the dough.

Now assemble your pizza. Or a bit of extra flavor chop some fresh basil or sprinkle on a few dried parsley flakes if you don't have the basil. *mine has the flakes* Now, pop the pizza into the oven on a lightly greased sheet.

Now grab your favorite beverage from the fridge. Ah, Kilkenny, yes, I still have a couple from Canada, but most are gone.

See how it's all stirred up when you pour it into the glass.

No worries, it settles quickly and you have lovely red ale with a nice head.

Pizza should be done in about 10 minutes or so. Until a bit of nice brown hits the cheese, and it depends on the thickness of your crust. Now dig in.

Yum!!!!
Well!

Again this damn thing will not let me upload photos. I'm not sure what the problem is. They are the same size as another photos that I have uploaded in the past. ARGH!

So, today, I guess you get a list of things that annoy me. This will not be an extensive list as that would take too much time and my fingers would likely fall off before I typed through the extensive list. Nope this is just a sampling.

1. Blogs that will not let me upload very important photos.

2. The fact that I keep stubbing my toes on the bottom of the fan in my bedroom. Seriously, it's there every day, but somehow I seem to run into it every single day.

3. People that only email forwards. If you email other stuff too and every now and then send on something you think is funny or important, that's fine, but don't just send forwards--just take me off your damn list.

4. The fact that my new desk in my office that I just got back in October already is full of dings and scratches. Now I know I put some there, lets not discuss that. However, the others just seem to have appeared, I think it's crap. A desk is for working and should be able to handle more than it has.

5. That healthy food experts tell me to eat an apple when my sweet tooth is in over drive. I tell you an apple is tasty, but it is not what my tooth wants. It wants brownies, birthday cake, cookies, ice cream, Reese Cups. I wish I knew which tooth it was, I'd pull it.

6. While we are on the subject of teeth. I am pissed that the tooth that had to have a root canal last March still hurts every single day. Seriously! Yes, seriously, and I just don't know what to do about it at this point. I'm just dealing and missing the invention of the straw.

7. Speaking of March, St. Paddy's Day is coming up soon. It should only be allowed on week days, that is this middle of the week crap?

*Sigh* It feels like a Monday all over again. This is not good, kids, not good at all.

Well...

Today was going to feature an episode of If I Can, You Can Too. However, the blogger system will not allow me to upload the photos.

So.....I guess you will have to wait for it. Hopefully tomorrow.

I'm A Putz...

So I pulled a muscle in my back last night and I didn't feel like sitting with a computer and going through photos. So no photos for today's post. Nothing really, that's why I'm a putz. I'm hoping my world will become less busy next week. Cross your fingers.

My Apologies...

I have neglected the blogging duties. As you may or may not know, registration for the next quarter has begun. Since I live in the dark ages, with no internet at home, I tend to do my blogging during my lunch hour. However, lately my lunch hour is not my own or is more of a lunch 15 minutes, so I've let a few items drop and the blogging is one of them.

I hope to have a few photos up by Friday, of what I'm not sure, but my camera has not been downloaded in awhile so who knows what fun stuff I'll find. Until tomorrow, when hopefully a new blog entry will appear.

Enjoy your Wednesday.

Damn Groundhog...

Why, why, why? On to happier thoughts.
